Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about Liora’s nurse-led services, what we help with, how booking works, and what to expect.
Healthcare can feel overwhelming, especially during hospital discharge, specialist appointments, medication changes, or care transitions. These are often the moments when information becomes scattered, instructions feel unclear, and families are left trying to connect the dots on their own. Liora helps patients and caregivers understand what is happening, what needs to happen next, and what information should be carried forward.
No. Liora does not replace doctors, nurse practitioners, hospital nurses, or publicly funded healthcare services. Medical decisions, diagnosis, treatment, prescriptions, and clinical management remain with your treating healthcare providers. Liora’s role is to help you understand information, prepare for conversations, communicate clearly, and follow through on next steps.
“Ministry” reflects our heart to serve with compassion, dignity, and respect. Liora Ministry™ is rooted in Christian faith, but our services are offered with respect to people of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs.
No. Liora supports patients and families regardless of faith or background. Spiritual support is optional. It is separate from the professional healthcare navigation service.
Liora provides nurse-led healthcare navigation and continuity support for patients and caregivers. This may include support before, during, or after medical appointments, hospital stays, discharge planning, care transitions, family meetings, and virtual consultations. We help families understand medical information, clarify next steps, and keep important details from getting lost between providers or care settings.
Liora focuses on the moments when important details can fall through the cracks — when care moves from hospital to home, from one provider to another, or from one appointment to the next. We are not a companion service. Our work is grounded in regulated healthcare knowledge, clinical judgment, communication support, documentation, and continuity of care.
We do not provide the following at the moment: - Emergency response or crisis intervention - Medical treatment or clinical procedures - Home care or PSW services - Legal, financial, or immigration advice
Pricing depends on the type of service, length of support, and whether the visit is virtual or in person. Liora’s fees reflect regulated healthcare professional time, preparation, documentation, communication support, and care coordination related to the booked service. Travel and direct out-of-pocket costs may apply for in-person support.
We support clients in: - Hospitals - Clinics - Medical appointments - Virtual sessions
Liora’s fee reflects the professional support needed during healthcare moments where important details can easily be missed. Families may need help understanding what was said, what needs to happen next, what information should be shared with the next provider, and when something should be followed up with the healthcare team. The fee supports safe, responsible, nurse-led care navigation during these important transitions.
In-person support begins when your nurse reaches the first agreed meeting point, whether that is your home, a hospital, a clinic, or a specialist’s office. Travel to the first meeting point is included within 20 km of the nearest Liora service hub in Mississauga or Markham. For locations between 20 km and 40 km from the nearest hub, a flat $35 travel fee applies. For visits beyond 40 km, please contact us for a custom quote. If your nurse travels with you, or follows your vehicle, after the visit has started, that additional travel is billed separately. Rideshare, taxi, transit, parking, and tolls are billed at cost. If a nurse uses their own vehicle during the service, mileage is billed separately at $0.73/km.
No. These services are privately paid, similar to physiotherapy, psychotherapy, or private case management.
We respect your confidentiality and only communicate with your healthcare team with your informed consent. We do not collect or store personal health information through email.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency department. Liora is not an emergency or crisis service.
With your consent, we collaborate respectfully with your care team and help ensure your voice, questions, and priorities are heard. Our role is to support shared understanding and follow-through — not to interfere with medical decisions.
You can book the service that best fits your situation, or contact Liora if you are unsure which service is right for you. We will review your request and confirm whether Liora is appropriate for your situation before the service begins.
