Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our advocacy services and how we can support you.
Liora Ministry™ is a nurse-led, bilingual service that helps patients, caregivers, and newcomers navigate the healthcare system, communicate with providers, and stay organized through moments of medical uncertainty. We support families in hospitals, clinics, and medical appointments, and through virtual consultation, so they can feel confident, informed, and not alone.
Healthcare can be confusing and overwhelming—especially during illness, transitions, or language barriers. Many families struggle with:
- Not knowing what to ask during appointments
- Miscommunication between providers
- Stressful hospital or clinic experiences
- Missed follow-ups and unsafe care transitions
Liora Ministry™ helps reduce stress, improve clarity, and promote safer continuity of care.
“Ministry” reflects our heart to serve with compassion, dignity, and respect. It does not mean the service is only for people of faith.
No. We support everyone, regardless of belief, culture, or background.
Only if you request it. If desired, we may offer prayer, encouragement, or emotional support that aligns with your values. It is always 100% optional.
Our support follows a clear and professional journey:
1. Initial Intake Assessment & Interview (Required Step)
We learn your medical story, priorities, and values, so we can advocate effectively.
2. Care Navigation & Advocacy (Hospital, Clinic, Virtual, or Appointment Support)
We attend appointments (in person or virtual), support communication, help you ask the right questions, and reinforce shared understanding with your care team.
3. Care Planning & Communication (Add-On)
We create and update a written care plan and journal that promotes coordination between doctors, caregivers, and community providers.
4. Workshops & Education (Optional)
For caregivers, families, churches, and community organizations who want to learn and prevent crisis before it happens.
Unlike home-care agencies or escorts, Liora Ministry™ is:
- Nurse-led (clinical judgment + professional standards)
- Bilingual (English/Chinese) and culturally sensitive
- By your side during appointments and medical moments (e.g. hospital stays), not only after discharge
- Focused on clarity, communication, and continuity—not just tasks or treatments
- Independent and patient-centred (you choose what matters most)
